How to Install the Rexing V1P Pro
Installing the Rexing V1p Pro Dual is simple and quick. Out of the box it comes with both the front and rear dash cams, along with wires to connect the rear to the front camera and front to a power supply. This dash camera set up comes with a 12v auxiliary plug for a plug and play experience.
Installing the front dash camera is an easy task but requires some planning before hand. Find a place on your front windshield that is away from tint, cleared of water by the windshield wipers, and does not interfere with your view of the road.
The rear camera is not that much different. When placing the rear dash camera be sure to avoid dark tint, places where water can collect, and most importantly a location that won’t block the road from view. Be sure to check that your rear view mirror doesn’t become obstructed by a rear camera in the way.
Tucking wires is a necessary step. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did it. When tucking the power cable, use the headliner and the edge of the windshield to hide the wire from view. After that, find a way to keep the rest of the wire hidden by either tucking it under the dash or securing it in another way.
Hide the rear dash camera by tucking it along the headliner of your vehicle. You can choose to hide it by the floorboards but you might run out of wire. Measure your vehicle first and plan out where the wire will go before you start to prevent mistakes from happening.
Top Features
Loop Recording
An amazing feature that you can’t go without is loop recording. No matter the size of your SD card, eventually, the video and audio you capture will fill it up. Loop recording does away with the issue of a full memory.
After the device’s memory has been filled up, the camera will delete the very oldest video to free space. This process will happen indefinitely and seem as though your device has infinite space on the memory. What makes this feature even better is the fact that videos which have been locked by you (or automatically by your camera) will remain untouched.
Collision Detection
The V1p Pro dual dash camera continues to have your back with its collision detection feature. This feature insures that critical and important footage is never lost. When your camera senses a sudden stop, jerk, or vibration it will automatically lock the video files.
Along with these two settings the Rexing V1p Pro also comes with a unique feature that isn’t found too often in other cameras. The Rexing allows you to stamp your vehicle’s license plate onto the video footage. Therefore, if your video is in the hands of an insurance company, police officer, or judge they will know without a doubt which car you were driving.
Built-In WiFi and GPS
Most modern dash cams will have built in GPS and Wifi. The Rexing V1P Pro dual is no exception. These two features seem small but they have amazing benefits.
Having built in GPS makes your evidence more credible. Instead of having a video that shows your car being rear ended, you can have footage that displays where you were and the speed you were going. Using Rexing’s GPS software you can plug your camera in and get detailed maps outlining where you have been.
Along with GPS, built in WiFi makes your life even more easier. With the Rexing Connect App on your smartphone you can access your files without taking your dash camera off your window. The app will also allow you to view your camera live, making it easier to find the right location to install. Having a dash camera with WiFi means that you can manipulate the settings from your smartphone app, instead of searching on a little screen for the right options.
Viewing Angle
With a 170 degree camera angle on both the front and rear camera, you will have the ultimate view of the road. This level of degree is larger than most dash cameras on the current market which will only help your ability to prove what happened during an accident.
Supercapacitor
Batteries are yesterday’s issue. Many dashcams come with a battery similar to the one in your phone; However unlike your phone, a dashcam battery is not meant to be operated when it isn’t connected to a constant power. The battery is mainly used to keep the camera on incase emergency videos need to be saved, or some devices use the battery to keep the motion and “g” sensor running. These lithium-ion batteries are great for those on a budget, however, they can wear out over time or even explode if exposed to intense heat.
A modern and more reliable alternative to the lithium-ion battery is a supercapacitor. Using a supercapacitor instead of a battery is said to increase the efficiency of a dash cam, as well as protect it from extreme whether conditions. Lucky for you, the Rexing V1P pro dual has made the switch and is rocking a supercapacitor to provide long-term reliability to you and your sweet ride.
Parking Mode
Having an extra set of eyes on your parked car can never hurt. Rexing’s 24 hour parking mode makes it easy. Once the device senses vibration or a sudden jerk, the camera automatically flips on and begins filming. To use this feature, simply purchase the smart hardwire kit sold separately and never feel nervous leaving your ride unprotected.
Is it worth it?
When you begin to count up every feature of the Rexing V1p Pro Dual you can really see it shine in comparison to other dash cameras of its kind. Coming equipped with “g” sensor, loop recording, excellent angle of vision, and phenomenal video and audio recording, what is not to love? This camera is one of the best dual channel cameras you can buy at this price.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the best SD card?
There are so many different types of memory cards. Some are better for video capture, others are better for phone use. Fortune would have it that Rexing has suggested the right SD card for you. Rexing suggests the Kingston Canvas Pro for all of their products, and even claim to give you a discount when you purchase their cameras on Amazon. If they say it’s good, I would trust them!
How to hide Rexing V1P Pro in my car?
Keeping a dashcam hidden is a method that many drivers use. The Rexing V1P Pro dual dash camera comes in a sleek and thinner design. By sticking to your car windshield with adhesive tape you can eliminate a bulky suction cup mount, making your dash camera harder to see. I suggest placing the camera behind the rear view mirror for maximum stealth.
The rear camera is extremely easy to hide because it was built with discreetness in mind. When placing your rear dash camera stay close to the sides of the window. Placing your camera in the center of your rear window will most likely draw attention to it.
How do I view the rear camera on the Rexing V1P Pro?
What’s the point of two cameras if you can’t see one of them? While the dash camera is installed in your vehicle, the front dash cam’s LCD screen will display the rear camera footage in the top left corner. This allows you to quickly check your front and rear cameras without having to press a button.
That screen, however, can be small and if you want to view your footage on a bigger screen you can plug in your camera’s SD card into your computer and view both camera’s footage on your computer. If that isn’t instant enough for you, you can also use the Rexing Connect App to check your footage.
Should the dash cam remain on all the time?
The most important time that a dash cam should be powered on is when you are driving. Roads and highways are were you will find a majority of the accidents. Having a dash camera powered on all day isn’t necessary, but if you want optimal video coverage protecting your vehicle I suggest you keep it on. Rexing sells smart hard wire systems that help do just that. With 24 parking mode you can keep tabs on your vehicle around the clock.
How do I update Rexing V1P Pro firmware?
Technology is changing almost constantly, and luckily the Rexing V1p Pro has planned for this!
- If you browse the settings menu you will find an option for “firmware”. Here it will display it’s current firmware that is installed on the device.
- Write down that version and refer to the Rexing dash camera website. Under the “support” tab you will find an option for “firmware”.
- After selecting your type of dash cam the website will tell you what the newest version of firmware is, and where to download it if your device isn’t up to date.
- Keep your device updated to stay up to speed with the new features and bug fixes. Before you know it, you’ll be on the road again with an updated dash cam
