The Papago! P3 Pro is a full HD 1080p dashcam with a unique design that you can mount straight on your dashboard or upside down on your windshield.
It is a little bulky compared to the other sleeker models, but the two mounting options make it a unique choice if you don’t want to stick it on your windshield and would rather mount it on your dashboard itself.
The camera automatically turns on when you turn your car on, so you’ll not need to worry about forgetting to push record.
Gps built-in with digital maps
A GPS records data of where you were and what speed you were going at, and US maps are built in that can show you your current location as you drive. Navigation is not built in.
Recording modes are standard as in all dashcams – the camera will keep recording and looping over old files until you choose to write-protect a file, or when the camera detects a jerk or hard motion that will write-protect the file immediately.
There are also some safety features built into the camera such as lane departure alert, driver fatigue alert(an alarm you can set to ring every so many minutes), front collision alert, and stop-and-go alert(if the car in front of you starts moving and you still aren’t).
You can use the GoLife software available for Mac and PC to view, manage, and transfer your videos, or you can also hook it up to a HDMI wire into your TV and watch videos there.
At the end of the day, the biggest advantage of the P3 is that you can mount it on the dash itself as well as on the windshield. The GPS and maps are an added bonus – but the maps aren’t enough to rely on for navigation, only to give you a general idea of where you are.
