The Papago GoSafe 200 is an excellent budget-priced dashboard camera. The model is very discreet and almost impossible to notice from outside your car.
It mounts using a clip onto the back side of your rear-view mirror, so it doesn’t get in your way.
To easily view videos and modify settings, an LCD screen slides out to below your rear-view mirror, and also slides back up again- so you are never distracted.
Papago Video Sensor
The camera is equipped with a powerful sensor that captures Full HD 1080p high quality videos.
It hasĀ a 140-degree viewing angle, so you are sure to capture everything you see on the road and also side-walks. Of course, the best dash cams have 160- degree lens but cost a lot more. PapaGo 200 offers decent recording quality for limited budgets.
Recording and parking mode
The dash cam supports multiple recording modes.
It has a regular mode which will keep looping until you choose to stop and protect a file.
It also has an emergency mode, which will write-protect a file as soon as a hard brake or impact is detected. The mode relies on a G sensor and is activated as soon as vibrations or shocks are detected.
Nevertheless, this dash cam also has an parking mode, which turns it into a surveillance camera that automatically records when car is off.
If you didn’t know, you can use a dash cam when you’re car is parked.
For parking mode you need a complementary hardwire power kit.
An EV sensor automatically adjusts exposure levels to ensure you get the best quality picture no matter what lighting conditions there are, be it a night, afternoon, morning, or noon.
Audio recording
Papago 200 comes with a microphone which records audio from your car.
It can detect and record loud sounds from outside of your car but is not reliable in the case of an outside event and you want a proper audio file.
The mic can also be muted for privacy purposes.
Downloading recorded events is easy with this dash cam. You can connect the camera to a computer using a USB cable to transfer videos and manage them.
