Full HD recordings
The Papago GoSafe 272 dashcam is an inexpensive yet functional dashcam that offers Full HD 1080p recording at 30 fps, giving you a clear and crisp picture of everything that happens from outside your car.
Along with good recording quality, the GoSafe 272 is packed with safety features that make it an exceptional device to have in your car, especially if you drive alone for long distances very often.
The bright and easy-to-see 2.4-inch screen shows you what’s going on from your camera’s perspective. You can watch recorded videos directly on the camera but is rather useless on such a small display.
The recording is standard as in all dashcams.Video files are recorded in 3-minute segments, and once the memory card is full, the camera will start writing over the oldest file and keep going on.
If there is a jerk or hard brake, the camera automatically write-protects the current file, so it stays safe. You can also choose to protect a file manually if you see something cool on the road and want to preserve the memory.
In case of an accident where you lose power, a backup battery is built into the camera, which makes sure your recording finishes, and you don’t miss the crucial footage.
Compact design
The dashcam itself is very compact and sleek and can fit inconspicuously anywhere on your windshield. It is not getting in your way and not being very noticeable from outside.
You don’t even have to worry about actively recording every time you go on a trip. When the dashcam receive power trough car lighter, it will automatically turn on when your car turns on.
HDMI Output
To view videos on your TV, there is an HDMI output that you can plug directly into your TV input. You can watch footage on the big screen at FullHD resolution and you can spot every detail you need on the video.
The dashcam will also be your surveillance camera if you have wired it directly into your battery. For that you need a power kit that will protect your battery from draining out overnight. Any time it detects motion, it will begin recording.
What card size?
You can use an 32Gb card with this dashcam. Use only class 10 or UHS micro-sd cards.
Safety features
Some of the safety features in the camera are Stop and Go Alert, which alerts you when the car in front has started moving after a long stop(like in traffic or at a signal), and Driver Fatigue alarms, which alert you to take some rest after a certain period of driving.
This is very useful for people who push for long periods.
Parking Surveillance
If you hardwire your dash cam to your car’s battery using a device such as Power Magic Pro, you can record even when the car is off, and you’ll never have to worry about coming back to a drained battery, either.
We like Papago 272 because it has:
Great video quality
Built quality excellent
Auto dim function
What we don’t like about Papago 272:
Bad cable management as the camera has a voltage converter which you cannot hide from view. Power cord lasts for less than a year, users say.
Some users report the impossibility of adjusting impact settings, which trigger recording protected videos.
Also, many buyers claim that Papago 272 often crashes or freezes every few days.
